Project Assignment

The main goal for this project was to promote and support an event through multiple levels of design, starting with an invitation and other pre-event promotion and ending with a giveaway package that contains a program or brochure and one or more giveaway items. 

Objectives

  •     Gained greater understanding of design history and how it influences contemporary design through research and application
  •     Acquire experience in conceptual design ideation through creating various iterations with assigned idea generation methods
  •     Create innovative and experimental designs
 

Target Audience

  • Demographic: Individuals, 30-45 years, upper class, white collar occupations. 
  • Psychographic: 
    • Hobbies: Competitive running, cycling, and swimming 
    • Values: Well being, competition, self enrichment              
  • Geographic: North America

Design Development

At the start of this assignment I was prepping for Grandma’s Marathon, so I named the hosting company of this event The Iron Grandpa because I thought name sounds funny and ironic. I also wanted to create a band identity for the event as well and since the event would take place in Duluth, MN I wanted the brand name to represent Lake Superior, so I name it The Superior Iron Man.
